How mobile is Farnon? We've designed Farnon to be used from any PocketPC or Smartphone device. We know that sometimes vets need access to vital data without their laptop or PC and Farnon has been designed exactly for that purpose. Using GPRS and 3G data networks availiable in the UK, Farnon connects back to your Tristan system and securely retrieves data you want back to your handset.
Multiple Device Support
Farnon works with any mobile phone or pocket PC running the Windows Mobile platform. If you device also has GPS (Global Positioning System) built in, then Farnon can use that feature to automatically bring up records of clients you're standing outside! No need to search for Data - Farnon knows where you are and displays the most relevant information to you. With the recent advances in mobile technology, many powerful handsets and units are now on the market including the HTC TyTN II, and Advantage handsets which we've personally found very useful for our clients. Flexible and Responsive The speed of mobile data connections sometimes leaves something to be desired. We only retrieve the information you want, with no graphics or other data intensive information, but we still retain the flexibility of Tristan even on a phone handset. Information is still displayed in our familiar grid layout and we've optimised functions and data entry to let you find and enter the information you want as fast as possible.
